During Spain’s hot, sultry summer months, cool, refreshing Spanish drinks are very much the order of the day.
I expect you’ve seen Spanish bars and open-air markets offering granizados for sale?
So … what are granizados?
They’re icy-cold, semi-frozen drinks, which go down a treat under the hot, Spanish sun.
Sip the liquid nectar through a straw … pause while the sun melts the drink a little more … and repeat until finished.
You’ll discover numerous flavors on offer but, as Spain’s blessed with an abundance of citrus fruits, lemon and orange are especially popular.
The recipe below is for a lemon granizado. Limes are just as nice though!
You’ll find it very easy to make, using only the most basic ingredients.
